Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Step Down Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day and Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 12 months permanent experience in specialty License: Permanent Ohio license or compact state license required Certifications: AHA or American Red Cross BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required Must-Have: - Must have 12 months of permanent experience in the specialty applying for. - Must have a permanent Ohio license or compact state license in hand at the time of submission. - One reference from a manager, ANM, supervisor, or director in the specialty applying for is required. - Required certifications need to be active and in hand at the time of submission. - Background checks of any kind will be reviewed; open cases will not be accepted. - Facility does not accept any license hits. - Must comply with testing requirements during orientation. Description: The position is for a Registered Nurse specializing in Step Down care. The nurse will float to various units to care for the same patient population if needed. The shifts include rotating days and nights, with hours starting at either 7:00 AM or 7:00 PM. Shifts may be variable to meet the operational needs of the hospital. Traveler must work at least every other holiday. An ECG rhythm recognition test and a medication safety assessment will be completed during orientation. An acceptable score on both assessments is required for continued employment. All travelers need to be nicotine-free, and a negative drug screen is required within 12 months of starting. Permanent and per diem candidates cannot return for one year from their previous end date.
